World leaders pledge $12 billion to AIDS, TB and malaria

Dear nevr_mor,

You're part of something really special.

This week, world leaders came together in Washington, DC to show their support for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria - the most powerful tool we have in the fight against these three killer diseases. And your actions helped make an amazing thing happen: leaders pledged more money than ever before.

We should be very proud of these commitments. Through their dynamic partners on the ground, the Global Fund has already provided AIDS treatment for 6.1 million people, tuberculosis treatment for 11.2 million people and 360 million insecticide-treated nets to help prevent malaria. And just at a time when we're beginning to beat these diseases, the Global Fund will now be able to help millions more.

This wouldn't have happened without you. More than 160,000 ONE members across the world took action, from signing the petition to sending postcards to leaders. And our voices were heard.

But we've still got work to do. Whilst leaders pledged more money than before, they still fell short of the Global Fund's fundraising target. So we need to make sure all countries step up in the coming months. Rest assured that ONE will be on the case to make sure this happens!
